Alyssa Palmer

R&B

Alyssa Palmer is a sultry R&B artist exploding into pop. Music has always run through her veins and she grew up singing and dancing with passion. Moreover, she began to take her artistry seriously as early as 14. At that point, Alyssa self pursued her passion for music through exploring the (at-the-time) emerging media of YouTube.

From this point early on, her family became her support system. “There have been a lot of people against me pursuing music, but my family has always been there for me.” As a young musician in this grueling industry, Alyssa has had to make difficult decisions about her style, presence, and music. Thankfully, she can find her way back to and pull strength from those values of family and her core, hometown of Wolverhampton, England

Based now out of London, Alyssa’s intentional and methodical approach to creating music is what truly helps her shine against artists of similar styles.

However, the meticulous focus she brings to her craft does not overpower her passion, which can be felt in every project she works on. With a wide range of topics, Alyssa tells her story in a way that is real, raw, and obviously authentic

With parallels to the ever-popularized storytelling style of Bastille or Alec Benjamin, Alyssa launches into retell her personal tales, guiding fans through tough situations, conversations, and societal dilemmas. “By tackling issues, like bullying and anxiety, I want fans to realise they are not alone and there is a light at the end of the tunnel.” Alyssa uniquely drapes these complex concepts against strong beats that have been compared to the likes of Mabel or RAYE. Alyssa refuses to latch herself on to any one genre and pulls countless sources of inspiration from the variety of ones she has closely studied such as R&B, Rock, and Indie

However, if she had to label what she was making, she would tell you “boss ass bitch anthems”. Her music is stuffed full with unapologetic empowerment and brimming with a feeling of freedom. “As for some of my other songs that are more light in theme, I want fans to be able to dance and let go” and in that sense of letting go is where listeners can truly sense the passion Alyssa has managed to bottle and deliver.

Alyssa refuses to ever let go of the authenticity that makes her unique. “You may think you need to appeal to a wide audience in order to be successful, but people nowadays want authenticity and originality rather than fitting in the “pop” box.”

This dedication to speaking her own truth is what will lead Alyssa to success and one day to selling out shows. Understanding what makes on-the-rise artist Alyssa Palmer tick and keeping an eye on her growth is sure to amaze anyone who has been following this industry and knows the difficult sacrifices that come with it.

In the end, Alyssa will always fall back on her core values and her guiding light in music: “Make what you love.”
